This case study documents the design process for crafting unique labels for Tooth And Nail, an Ottawa-based brewery with a distinct gothic and edgy brand identity. Focused on capturing Ottawa's essence, two concepts were developed: the first featuring the iconic Maman Spider by Louise Bourgeois, a symbolic sculpture in front of the National Art Gallery of Canada, and the second drawing inspiration from the gothic revival architecture of the Parliament building for the Parliament Pilsner. Meticulously executed to align with Tooth And Nail's aesthetic, these beer labels successfully merge local symbolism with the brewery's brand, creating visually captivating representations that resonate with both the city's character and the company's image.
